About Sovicell

History

Sovicell, formerly known as Nimbus Biotechnology, was founded in 1994 as a spin-off from the University of Munich (LMU). The Company developed the TRANSIL technology platform, a novel bead based system, that allows drug candidates or other test substances to be accurately and rapidly assessed for membrane permeability, protein binding, solubility and organ-plasma partitioning. Major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies have adopted our technology and we are committed to increasing our product portfolio in close cooperation with our customers, to meet their needs. The most recent addition to the TRANSIL product line is a blood-to-brain absorption kit that is based on true biological membranes, and is proving invaluable as a tool in assessing the pharmacokinetic profile of central nervous system (CNS) therapies. With the introduction of the SOVICYTE cell product lines for the assessment of metabolic transformation, Sovicell is fulfilling its promise in becoming a full range supplier for ADME-Tox. The first product in this line is the SOVICYTE Human Cryopreserved Hepatocytes that enables detailed metabolic profiling of a large variety of chemicals.
