Hinnerk Boriss joined Sovicell in 2007 as CEO, where he brings extensive knowledge and experience about international finance and the European pharmaceutical, biotechnology and diagnostic markets. He was previously at Celsis International plc, Leipzig, Germany where he held positions as Marketing Director and Managing Director of Invitro Technologies Europe and was responsible for significantly expanding the business in Asia and Europe as well as improving the sales profits. Prior to joining Celsis he was a Marketing Partner at conveo - consulting & communications, Berlin. Hinnerk has also held numerous senior level academic positions at the University of Leipzig, Germany, University of Aarhus, Denmark and the Max Planck Institute for Limnology, Germany.
Hinnerk holds a PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Limnology, Germany and a MBA from the Open University Business School, UK. He received a degree in Biology and Physics from the University of Göttingen, Germany and then carried out graduate studies at the University of California, USA, University of Göttingen, Germany and Standford University, USA.
Sven Rüger brings over 30 years of industry experience to Sovicell, including business management expertise that spans speciality chemicals, life sciences and biotechnology. Previously he has worked at HOECHST AG, Aventis Corporate Research and Technology, CLARIANT International and Corak Consulting ltd. and held various interim positions as CFO in Private, VC financed, companies. Sven has gained extensive commercial and technical experience within the areas of sales and marketing, logistics, management accounting, controlling, treasury, corporate planning, change management, commercial IT systems, research and development as well as spin off and merger activities.
He was awarded a prestigious corporate scholarship that supported his degree in business administration (Diplombetriebswirt [FH]), where he specialized in accounting, taxation and general management.
